Musical Beds

Some days seem much longer than others... and normally its because of what fills it.  The day had a lot of promise right from the beginning.  The rain was stopping for a few days.  The kids were sleeping a little longer because they are worn out from the swimming classes.  Sophia was feeling a little better.  She has been suffering from a slight ear infection, but it was passing.

Hats for everyone

So, I was trying to get up for work... but it was hard to, because the bed kept calling me.  Oh sweet blissful sleep.  The only thing I was missing was the quiet part.  Thats when the wake up crew arrived.  Sophia and Megan were the first to arrived.  They did not hesitated to make all kinds of noises to try to get me out of bed... but I just pretended I was asleep.... hoping they would give up.... but they didn't.

Wake up call

...shortly after this peaceful picture, it was all jumping and hitting until I got up.  And off to work I went.  I wanted to get as much done as I could at the office so that I could rush home.... why? ...because I love my family.... and the Matthew's new bedroom furniture had arrived.  Matthew is now big enough to get a bigger bed.  And get his own room.  So Sophia is now moving in with Megan, and Matthew is moving to Sophia's old room.  I rush home and work feverishly to put together all of Matthew's new furniture.

Matthew new bed

And of course we had to get Matthew a cool new Superman theme for his bedding.  Along with that we had to get Megan the princess theme bedding so we would not start another civil war....  We are still trying to recover from the last one...

Sophias new bed

So what to do with Sophia.  She has already jumped out of her crib a few times, so she too was ready for a toddler bed.  She seems all excited and playful when everyone is awake and she is on the bed... but when it is time to sleep.... she doesn't think play time is over!!  I guess it could be worse, but the one that is really suffering is the roommate Megan.  The other downside is that now when Sophia wakes up... she is not in a cage... and free to come complain!!

Old enough to drive?

So sure, Sophia is ready to go.... but OH NO!!! ... She is too young to drive...Well at least thats what the law says... So what do you do then? .... you have to go to your big sister!

Can I see your drivers license?

Besides... what are big sisters for.  When you need that helping hand for the things you are not old enough to do on your own yet.  ...well maybe she should be wearing shoes before she drives... but at least she has her seat belt on.  I think she will need it.

Ready for the road

No time to stop.  Purse in hand and stroller ready to roll, nothing can slow down this toddler on the run.  Sophia has to many errands to stop for a quick interview with me... but I am sure that once she has some time for me... she will give me a ring from her celly.

Ready to go.

I really don't know where she thinks she is going... she is not yet old enough to drive...   But maybe if I take her, she will give me a nice tip.

Fashion Sense

Ah to be young and crazy.  To be old enough and mature enough to make ones own choices.  To choose ones own life style... and mostly.... to choose ones own cloths!

Crazy Hat

I don't remember having that much fashion sense when I was two... or having such cool clothing options.  But with my fashion sense... that is probably a good thing.  I think they get their tastes from Paola.

Let the swings fly!

So some time ago, the kids had convinced us that it was time for a new play set.  The little plastic one was no longer holding its amusement for them.  So a little over a month ago we bought one of those "build it yourself" play sets from the store (Sam's club).  I have had a ton of odd hour work lately... so it took me awhile to put together.

Play Set

Actually it took about a month.  Board by board... piece by piece.... stain it... attach it... but finally it was done.  The kids seem to like it.... which makes me happy.  Now if only we can grow some grass around it.  That will take a little more time.  On the 4th of July we had a little barbecue here, and we had a bunch of kids put the play set to the test.  I am glad that they did not destroy it or set it on fire....

Smarty Pants

The kids are still on break..... except for swimming classes, but Paola still finds the time to work with them when she can.  Here is Matthew practicing his spelling....

Smarty Pants

Paola emailed me this picture and said:  "This was the day he spelled 50 words correctly from 53 And knew all the vocabulary in Spanish except for 6.  Isn't that amazing???"

Now that he is spelling ... I will have to watch my back, its only a matter of time before he starts correcting my writing.... (I am a horrible speller)...
