Busy-Saturday-Busy

What ever happened to long relaxing weekends with rest and no alarm clocks?  Those days are long gone.  Most of the weekends are packed full of activities and events.... games and projects...This Past Saturday was no different.  But I think these were some pretty good events.

Matthew at Match Competition April 2013

Matthew did great.  But more importantly, he really enjoyed the competition. The last thing we want is for him to burn out and not enjoy these events.  After that we celebrated with a little Taco Bell!!  ...oh yeah. Nothing says "I Destroy Math" .... like burritos.  We got a little rest, and then we were off to the Soccer game.

Where were the girls during all of this?  The girls had a girl scout Science field trip instead.  They also had a blast.  They got to see a ton of cool stuff.  From race cars to experiments.... arts and crafts with robotics.  Pretty cool stuff, ... I wish I could have also gone.

The weekends don't seem to be getting any lighter... and the kids aren't getting any younger.  Onward!

Family and Wings

We had Paola's brother in town for a few weeks.  They came with the whole tribe.  And boy did all of the kids have soo much fun!!

Tios y Primos

On this day the gang got a chance to go get some wings...  there were many chickens in fear that day.  This is a good picture before everyone dug in and got sauce on everything.

2013 Bowl

The reading bowl for 2013 got here quicker than I would have thought.  Last years bowl was full of reading and testing late in to many nights before the competition.  This year was no different...  But the day finally arrived and the Shoal Creek Sharks were ready... and they did great.

So now it is more studying and practice since next weekend they now go to Regionals.  I do have to say that one of the biggest aids in Matthews practice has been Paola.  She is the motivator... the one that is up late and up early helping Matthew to practice.  She is the one that reminds him of the goal and encourages his progress.  Paola and many other parents and teachers helped the team reach their goal.

Santa Time

A little over a week ago, we got a chance to have our Breakfast with Santa.  It was good to see a lot of friends and their kids coming to take pictures with Santa.  You forget how many kids everyone has until they are all in the same room together.... and it is a little nice... and a little scary when you finally do see it.

Christmas Santa [RBC]

The breakfast was provided by Waffle House... Oh yes... and it was syrup-licious!!  And in our rare photo with Santa, all eyes where open.  Another bonus!  smiley

Sleeping Over

Megan recently had her birthday party [Nov 24 th was her B-Day] and had a bunch of her friends stay for a sleepover.  I was all about painting nails, watching movies, playing games, and eating pizza.  But even though they did a lot of things... I don't think they got a lot of sleeping in.

Megan's BDay Sleepover

There was way too much giggling...and to be honest I was a bit scared and hid in my room.... every now and then I would listen to see if it was safe to leave my room, but I was trapped almost until lunch the next day.   Well at least Megan loved her birthday party.
