The Girls

The girls are growing.  Its amazing how one day they are just sucking their thumbs and then the next day they are asking to drive the car.

The Girls

These girls are hard to keep up now... I can only imagine what it will be like when they are teenagers.... heaven help us.

Chillin

The weather is starting to get a bit chilly.  Not much to say tonight..... oh so tired.  We have been over booked lately.

Chillin

Just chillin with some cold beverages on the deck.... while the warm weather lasts.

Chillin

...good times.  Good times...

Towers

Some of the greatest structures in life are built right in the comfort of our own home.  First we have the Baby Lego tower, built by the three resident architects.

Tower

Next comes the big kid Lego House.  Not sure who put it all together, but you can guess who took it apart.

Lego House

This last one is just the stairs.... This one is more of Daddy's play structure since it is connected to the desk.

Bob II

So we have not seen much of Bob lately... but we did get a chance to meet Bob II.

Bob II

Bob II is not as spunky as Bob (1), but he is still polite enough.  He does not say much, and he did not stick around long... but at least he did have that cool leaf camouflage thing going.

How Sweet It Is.

That oh so familiar sound.  The simple chime mounted on a van.  That simple tone that you can't confuse for any other....  The song of the ice cream truck.

Ice Cream on wheels

Matthew had been saving his coins for some time..... he thought it was an eternity.  Several times he had come to me with coins in his spider-man wallet asking "...dad, is this enough to buy an ice cream?"  Megan and Sophia take the easy road, they just smile and give me that sweet innocent smile they know that I can no resist....

We are now in October... and the weather is getting colder.... I think that the ice cream truck visits will be far and few between.  But not all sweets come with a theme song...

Yummy Chocolate Goodness

The sweet taste of chocolate pudding.... can put a smile on anyone's face.  Either that or Megan is putting on a fake mustache to fool the paparazzi.  You never see broccoli putting a smile like this on anyone's face.

Head of Raphael

Its good to have heroes.  People we look up to and admire.  Specially if they taste good on a stick....

Raphael Ninja Turtle

I guess there are some reasons we try to reach our heroes.... in some ways, we need to surpass them or be them to reach our goals....  Matthew is holding Raphael, one of the Teenage mutant ninja turtles...... so cold ... so tasty.... I guess Matthew will have to find another hero.

Bob comes to visit

...when someone knocks on the door, you normally expect a friend... a neighbor.... or even a vendor/sales person.

Visitor

The last person you expect to come visit is the 'Bob'.  Thats right.  Bob the conquerer.  Bob the future ruler of the world.  He is really quite daunting at first glance.... and don't mention his beady eyes.... but for a praying mantis he is pretty well mannered, as long as he is not angered.  ....It was nice meeting Bob, but I think the kids were a little relieved when he finally left.

Shocking Lesson

There are some lessons in life that are harder to learn than others.   This lesson was learned a couple of weeks ago by Matthew.

Can Top

This is the top of a can.  So... I had a drink... and what does Matthew usually do? ...he likes to snap the flip top piece from the cans.  Their shinney... their neat.  Why not?  Well, here is one good reason for "why not?"

Item Not For Plug

So this is a picture of the flip top after Matthew decided to experiment with it.  If you look closely you will notice that it has snaped... and has some black charred sections.... what could a little four year old boy do to destroy this piece of metal?

Matthews plug

...and here is Matthew's tool of choice.  I know I have told him on several occasions that he should not play with outlets.  And that he should never stick anything in an outlet.... but I guess he did not really learn it when I told him.  He had to learn this lesson the hard way.  He was in pain... and kept shaking his hand saying it stings.... but he did not cry.  I think he was more shocked than anything else when he was thrown back from the outlet...  Thank God he is ok... and hopefully it will be awhile before he does something crazy like this again.... maybe a week or two?

Ring Leader

Some crimes have no rhyme or reason.  Some crimes have no purpose.  ....but you do the crime... you do the time.

Ring Leader

But thats just the start.  The real question is, who planed this horrible crime against man kind (...or the living room)....  but these evil doers are now paying the price (time out chairs)  Those kids can't fool me... specially Sophia... playing like she is all innocent.  I think she is behind this plan.  Luckily, local law enforcement(Paola) was at hand to stop them.

The plants that grow.

There are special people in our lives.... the kind that we share special moments with.  Special moments like growing a plant... or fighting over the crayons.

Matthew and Madison

Here we have a special moment captured in time.... a rare time where friends aren't fighting or throwing things at each other....  rare moments indeed.  Lets just hope the plants make it.
