Princess Sophia

Lately there has been a lot of time with Matthew and Megan on the basketball courts.  They sure do love to play around.  And they even get a little bit of basketball in from time to time.  We are just glad that they are having so much fun as well as learning some good team skills.  That will come in handy no matter what they do in life...  I guess at some point I should put some basketball pictures here... but instead, I wanted to post about Princess Sophia today.

A couple of weeks ago, the girls where watching Disney's Ice Princess movie.

Disney's Ice Princess

So they were showing one of the skating scenes near the end, where the entire competition depends on this one performance.  It was at that time that Sophia looked at me and said "...this is so beautiful, its making my eyes cry..."

Princess Sophia

She looked so sad and cute when she said that , that I had to cover my smile so she would not get mad at me.  Sometimes Sophia is the most interesting mix of serious and adorable... so much so that its hard to know how to react.

There Will Be Singing...

Back in November (Yes, I know... I am a little late as usual) the kids got a chance to show us some of the songs that they had been practicing.

Matthew and the Kids Chorus

They performed for us a beautiful collection of worship music.  I was surprised at how well they all did.  I remember back to my younger years... and the singing that we did (and I am thankful to God that Matthew sounds better than me).

Lakeview Baptism

Last year was a very exciting time for us as we got to serve in the Lakeview community.  We are working with some awesome people who regularly show their love for everyone through their service.  We have gotten to see (in this past year) some great spiritual growth in the Lakeview Youth (and in the adults).

 Baptism in Lakeview

One of my greatest joys in service, is when we see people come to Christ.  To see the powerful impact that Jesus can have on someone's life.  And then to see that person following in obedience to Jesus' commandment of baptism.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve our Lord ... and that He would have us even with all of our inadequacies and issues.  He can still use us for His glory.

Daddy Day

Before the end of last year (again) it was time for Daddy Donut Day at my kids School.  It is much better than Daddy Broccoli day... trust me.  You don't want any of that..

Matthew's Class (Megan came to visit)

I wish I had more time to visit them at school and go to these kind of events.  They enjoy them so much (and so do I).  After the healthy donuts, we got a chance to go to Matthew's class to say hi.  A great group of kids.  Megan came with me since we dropped her off after this at her class room.  I wonder if years from now they will think back to these things?... or if they will look at the pictures one day and remember...
